Tech Trends to Watch Post-COVID-19

As the dark cloud of the Covid-19 pandemic sweeps the globe, mankind is forced to innovate and change the way we work and live. The silver lining here is the fact that this crisis is likely to catalyze some huge changes as corporations adjust to accommodate the tremendous pressure of the pandemic on the global economy.
Welcome to a new era where agility, scalability and automation are the watchwords.Here are 3 technologies to watch out for after COVID-19.

  • Cloud Technology; Businesses which run on cloud will not buckle under the pressure of the pandemic. It is my belief that adopting some-kind of cloud-based business model, during and after this lock-down will go a long way to provide the much-needed infrastructure for powering virtual services rather than physical products and hardware, cutting down on paper waste as well as improving energy efficiency.
  • Telemedicine; Due to the fact that the major mode of transmission of this virus is via physical contact with an infected person. It has become imperative to process the crowds at health centers faster and efficiently, enter telemedicine. Rather than rush to a health center, it is now possible to engage remote care and consultation without the need for a visit altogether.
  • Teleconferencing; Both the organizers and attendees of physical events have now been forced to consider digital events. It is also now less likely to experience hitches associated with physical events like capacity.

and a bonus;

  • eCommerce; Pre-Covid-19, businesses may have thought they cracked online shopping, but this pandemic has tasked systems so much so that consumer behavior has shifted once again to the online space. Post-Covid-19, businesses who wish to remain competitive will have to figure out a way to either have online services or make payments more secure even if they want to maintain a brick and mortar location.

COVID-19 by forcing our collective hand to find digital solutions to keep businesses running, has helped us see the possibility of maintaining some of these practices afterwards.
