2Job Purpose
 Preparation and rendition of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other reports required by management.Reporting on financial performance, analyzing past results, identifying variances and trends, monitoring competition, and making recommendations for improvements. Overseeing the reconciliation of various general ledgers, ensuring in-depth investigation of discrepancies and their prompt resolution. Assist in monitoring and ensuring adequate control over financial administration, expenditure, and assets management across all departments. Responsible for transforming consolidated financial statements to the required format for regulatory audits and regulatory bodies’ requirements. Identifying risks inherent in the business and advising on how to best mitigate and ensure full compliance with requisite rules and regulations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements. Supervise treasury and banking operations. Manage Account Receivables and Payables. Direct supervision of Finance Assistant.Coordinate internal and statutory audit activities. Oversee maintenance of finance systems for optimal performance. Support finance policy formulation initiatives.Effect payroll payment and all associated returns.
3Main Duties and Responsibilities
 ACCOUNTS & AUDIT Day-to-day operational responsibility of Accounts & finance.Timely closure of all books of accounts and other relevant records ensuring their accuracy to facilitate the generation of various reports according to the due dates. Completion of Audit according to the accounting standards within the stipulated deadline. Validate invoice posted on Oracle Fusion payables, review it for any corrective measures and initiate further approval. Ensure approved invoices on Oracle Fusion are paid in full to Softpay. Validates payment transaction in Softpay for Chairman’s approval. Post any other manual adjustment ledger through the Oracle Fusion General ledger (GL). Conclude final posting of all ledgers in the GL MonthlyPost all receivables and receipts to Oracle Fusion Receivables. Ensure capital-intensive items are duly captured at the invoice level as assets. Ensure proper bookkeeping of invoices and 3rd party related documents for audit trail. Ensure monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts specifically on those banks that are used for our day-to-day transactions with the General ledger. Ensure petty cash transactions are reconciled with expenses due. Ensure the liability account is duly reconciled for audit purposes. FINANCE AND BUDGETING Annual preparation of company budget ForecastingPreparation of Budget Forecasting for projects with Financial needs. Ensure timely collection of receivables. Timely Preparation and presentation of various Management Reports on Project Costing and Revenues etc. with an objective of presenting a true and fair view of the state of affairs of each project. Prepare and ensure invoice submission to Clients at the completion of project milestones follow up through calls or email with clients on invoices submitted and outstanding invoices follow up with Relationship Manager/Project manager on receivable for projects outside Lagos. Visit the Client site to discuss issues of discrepancies or delays on invoices outstanding. Review payable invoices and ensure cost is minimized. Monthly preparation of Budgeted Revenue and Expenditure against Actual Revenue and Expenditure for monthly management review.Recurrent preparation of all project revenue and expenditure for management review or decision-making.Weekly reporting on all outstanding receivables due.
LEGAL & TAXATION Taxation planning with an external auditor. Timely payment and/or refund of VAT, Withholding tax, PAYE, Rates, ITF, NSITF, PENCOM, FRC, CPN, and all other statutory bodies. Good payments Statutory compliance with respect to the filing of various returns. Attending and completing all Government Audits without attracting additional liabilities. Review and respond to all forms of correspondence from every statutory body. Act as the principal contact of the company to all statutory bodies. Review, plan and ensure all statutory audit exercises are duly carried out annually.   SYSTEMS & CONTROLS Devising, Implementing, and monitoring assigned responsibilities on the Oracle Application. Implementation of the existing checklists/procedure and the suggested internal controls by ensuring that all anomalies/non-compliance are eliminated completely at the earliest.
4Qualifications and/or Experience Required
 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting of Banking & Finance. Detail-oriented with expert knowledge of (GAAP) accounting procedures and financial reporting practices excellent written and verbal communication skills Minimum of 5 – 10 years experience in Accounts & Audit, Finance, and Budgeting, Systems & Controls,  Legal & Taxation, prior industry-related experience is a plus experience in the usage of financial apps like Oracle ERP, Sage, etc. Strong receivable Management, Project costing, and controls. Professional Accounting Qualification ( ACCA, ICAN, ICMA, ACA, etc)Precept understanding of the company’s current products and future concepts
