e-Governance Initiative: Oyo State Government Takes the Lead in ICT

All road led to Oyo State on the 5th of June, 2017, as the Oyo state Government launched its e-Governance Initiative, a long time project nurtured by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Abiola Ajimobi. The Oyo state government seek to take the reign by leveraging technology to deliver the benefits of good governance to the grassroots.  

The core of the e-Governance initiatives is to drive transparency, accountability and grassroots impact using the extensive capabilities of ICT. This Initiative is powered by Soft Alliance and Resources Limited, a world class system integrator and solutions provider.

This epic event was well attended by dignitaries from all works of life. The event kicked off with a speech from the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT Matters, Mr. Niyi Ajao, who highlighted the goals of the governor for the state, and the role of SoftAlliance in bringing the project to life.

Speaking at the event during his speech, The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, describes his goals for the people of the state. His desire to make the Oyo State a leading force in the ICT industry. He highlighted the merits of the e-Governance Initiative as increased efficiency and productivity in government service delivery to the citizens of the state by migrating from paper-based management processes to an electronic one. He also reiterates his promise of commissioning a technical university that would offer all courses in ICT, and hopefully, invite the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, to launch it.

The state-of-the-art MIC room deployed by SoftAlliance for the Oyo State e-Governance Initiative was then officially launched by the Governor during the cutting-of-the-ribbon section of the event to round up a memorable day. The Governor hopes to achieve 100% transformation from paper-based processes into automated by the year 2019.
